Refinement/Update of OPS Technology Plan

Every year the OPS Technology Plan is updated based on periodic reviews and developments that take place throughout the school year.  The strategic portion of the plan includes the vision, strategies, goals, and objectives for implementing technology across the District.  The tactical section includes a listing of the individual projects being addressed each year and identifies how they relate to the District vision for technology. Both strategic and tactical planning is focused on enhancing student learning and improving administrative efficiencies.  The ongoing efforts to review and update the OPS Technology Plan reflect the dynamic nature of planning.  It is important that decisions are made consistent with the direction outlined in the plan and, in turn, that the plan reflects any unanticipated developments that may affect technology.  The 2008 plan is being updated and the state technology plan is being finalized for submission to the Nebraska Department of Education in September 2009.

Setting Direction for Information Management Services (IMS)

The IMS management team met in June 2009 to address key issues and determine next steps for moving forward in the next school year.  Prior to this management retreat, IMS sent out a survey to customers for the second year in a row and reviewed the survey results to determine both our strengths and opportunities for improvement.  These efforts have led to the development of an action plan to further strengthen leadership, better integrate functional and technical efforts, and implement processes that are important in achieving the strategies, goals, and objectives outlined in the OPS Technology Plan.
