Creation and Future Expansion of a Data Warehouse

IMS Web Systems working with the OPS Research Department has completed the creation of a Data Warehouse.  The Data Warehouse currently contains information about student assessments.  The assessments currently included in the Data Warehouse are CRT, CAT, TSC, ELDA, PLAN, and State Writing. OPS staff can get assessment information about individual students, about a classroom of students, or about all students at a school.

Although the first facts in the Data Warehouse were developed with requirements from the Research Department, further expansion is projected for next school year that will include various District departments.

Development of a Technology Training Web “Hub”

Working with the IMS Technology Trainers IMS Web Systems have built a website TechHub (www.ops.org/techhub) to support training users to use the new system whether it is related to web pages, Infinite Campus, FirstClass, or other training areas.

Increased Customization Demands

Based on applications utilized, more demand for custom applications have increased; for example: ePortifolios, Plan Application, and in the works a new Technology Training Registration System.

Upgrade to a Content Management System

IMS Web Systems has completed a two year upgrade to convert all schools and department web sites to a Content Management System. All websites have the same modules being supported by IMS Web Systems and providing a consistent framework across the District.  This system now allows users of all skill levels to keep their website content up-to-date!
